AcquiaU Session:
2015 Summer Session

From Peace Corps to Drupal

I’m a builder and a connector, and I love making connections between people, business, and strategy. When the opportunity arose to join Acquia and rebuild the program, I jumped at the chance. Over the past 15 years, I have worked primarily in high-tech, advertising, and digital marketing where I built and launched training and development programs. While I worked with great programs, they lacked a truly integrated approach. AcquiaU offers the perfect storm: redesign the way people learn, network, and build a career paths, and fill the program with people who are passionate and ready to take a leap forward. Participants in the program bring their curiosity and potential, and graduate with is a solid set of skills, a definitive career path, friends, and a lot of great connections. (And maybe even a nickname or two!)

I’m not a technologist by training. In fact, my early history is in languages and working in the non-profit sector. I am fluent in Spanish and English, and conversant in French, Portuguese, and Swahili. In my spare time, I co-teach Black and White darkroom workshop courses at the New England School of Photography, coach students, and donate photography services to local non-profits. A bit of an interesting trek for a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer where I focused on Fisheries in Zaire. Being at Acquia means that I can let all this experience work for me now and for my future.
