Special Meetup Schedule

Call for Lightning Talks

This month we are again putting out a call for themed lightning talks. Volunteers get between 5 to 10 minutes to present a talk. We are looking for talks on the following topic:

Decoupled Drupal

Decoupled, Headless, API-first, the approach to building a Drupal project that has a clear separation of data and display has many names. This month we want to learn more about decoupled Drupal architecture, the benefits and caveats, tools and technologies, case studies and experiences. Possible questions/topic ideas:

  • An overview of the API-first initiative
  • Using JSON or REST API to deliver data
  • How to use React on your Drupal project
  • The difference between decoupled and headless (is there one?)
  • Examples of decoupled/headless projects
  • Alternative front-end frameworks for rendering Drupal data

Help us answer these questions and more with your lightning talks.

Guest Speaker

xjm will be presenting to our group her keynote for the upcoming June Drupal HackCamp in Bucharest.

"Responsible disclosure, cross-project collaboration, and Drupal 8 security"

The Drupal project has been following a responsible disclosure model for more than 12 years. As Drupal has grown from a few thousand installs to more than 1 million, and as the number of contributed projects on Drupal.org has grown from hundreds to tens of thousands, the Drupal Security Team has continually evolved our processes to scale our security coverage.

With Drupal 8's release, important changes in Drupal core and the ecosystem have required further improvements to our process. This session will use examples from past Drupal 8 core security advisories to explore some of the lessons learned since Drupal 8's release.

This session will be presented in June as a keynote at Drupal HackCamp in Bucharest.
